We recently had the pleasure of welcoming US student Edenmarie to the team as part of Swansea University’s Texas Strategic Partnership . Eden joined us from the University of Houston, where she is currently studying medicine. Although only working with the Register for a few weeks, Eden quickly settled in as one of the team. Her work has focused on mental health in MS, and using Register data Eden created a scientific poster which she presented at the end of her exchange.

Have you enjoyed working with the UK MS Register team?

Working with the UK MS Register has been a highlight of my summer and I am grateful for the warmth and support from the team throughout this experience.

Why did you particularly want to work with the Register?

I was drawn to this project by my interest in the psychological aspects of chronic illness, and exploring the relationship between anxiety, depression, and MS type with such a rich dataset has deepened that passion considerably.

Do you think this work experience will be useful to your future career?

This experience has given me a strong foundation in data analysis and research methodology that I am confident will support my future career in medicine and clinical research.
